| The Galati family has been in the restaurant business for three generations. So when they recently returned from Italy, it was a natural choice to open an authentic Italian restaurant. The cozy location across from the courthouse in Murphysboro was the perfect spot. The menu features authentic Italian cuisine featuring homemade sauces used in the lasagna and spagetti, along with pizza dough a nd alfredo sauces, all made from recipes that have been in the family for years. All the pizza toppings are fresh and are sliced in the restaurant daily. The name chosen for the business was Cummare which means "best friend" in Italian. Once you come in and try their delicious food in front of the rustic fireplace, sip a glass of wine, or sample some of the fantastic Italian desserts, you will agree that the name is well suited for this cozy restuarant. And you will be sure to return time and time again for many years to come. |
